Experimenting with a new planning document for our latest UOI opened so many doors for us. The one that opened widest was that of authentic reflection DURING a unit, not static reflection AFTER a unit. Too often we would reflect when a unit was over as this was what was required. How often did we actually look back at those reflections before starting the unit again the following year? I will to admit that this was something I rarely did.
Having a live document, that all could access, allowed for reflection by not only educators, but students too. It allowed for everyone to be learners.
Reflecting during the unit allowed for such rich learning to take place.
